Coronary microvascular dysfunction (CMD), which is associated with diabetic cardiomyopathy, Takotsubo cardiomyopathy, andheart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF), is understudied. CMD is characterized by impaired endothelial-dependent vasodilation, but detailed mechanisms have yet to be elucidated.
