SMYD1a, a myosin-specific histone lysine methyltransferase, plays a major role in regulating disease-induced remodeling in the adult heart. Previously, we demonstrated that the inducible loss of this chromatin-bound enzyme is sufficient to induce cardiac hypertrophy and failure
