Abstract

CT-guided percutaneous ethanol sympatholysis provides 60% long-term effectiveness for facial, axillary, and/or palmar hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating of the face, armpits, and hands); although it comes with a 15% risk of compensatory hyperhidrosis elsewhere in the body, it can be a life-altering intervention for those with severe disease.
